You Say Tomato, I Say Tom-Art-O

More than a mascot, the humble tomato is a symbol of Earth Fare’s fresh, healthy, and organic philosophy. And for the next week and a half it can also be your muse and your chance at winning a piece of the $1,500 in prizes that Earth Fare is offering as part of its sixth annual Take Your Tomato Contest. It’s simple, just take a tomato and get creative with it.
Four winners will each win a $300 Visa Gift Card — one card to go to the popularly selected winner of each submission category. One photographer will win a $500 Visa Gift Card for the Earth Fare’s Favorite — an overall winner picked by Earth Fare team members. Every submitter will receive a coupon for one free pound of organic on-the-vine tomatoes (with a $5 purchase).
Below are the four categories and information about entering. You must submit your photos by Aug. 10 and you can only submit one entry per category. Contest candidates must be over the age of 18. By submitting a photo, you verify that the artwork is your original property and does not belong to any other artist or photographer.
Baked Tomato
Write up an original recipe that features the tomato as a central ingredient. We’re looking for something tasty and innovative, and we know how to Google to see if it’s original.
Traveling Tomato
Traveling Tomato Take Your Tomato somewhere cool, somewhere unexpected, somewhere creative or inspiring and take its photo.
Van Gogh Tomato
Let your tomato be the muse for a creative work. Paintings, collages, Photoshop manipulations, sculpture. Start with tomato inspiration, and take it anywhere, then submit a pic.
Mater in Motion
Mater In Motion Make your tomato the star of a video short (2 minutes max). Post to any popular video site (YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook) tag it @EarthFare and submit a link where we can view it.
