Out With the Old, In With the New Menu

Home Team BBQ in West Ashley has launched a new menu format in preparation of their new downtown location opening in early 2016. The popular restaurants also introduced a new cocktail program, which includes several specialty drinks that feature local products and spirits that are part of their extensive collection.
The food menu is streamlined and allows for a “specials” menu to be offered that will highlight more seasonal, inventive dishes. Favorite items are still part of the regular menu including snacks like smoked chicken wings, nachos, sliders, and cracklings.
The big focus of the new format is the meat program which will be expanded to include items such as pork belly, beef ribs, house cured hams, smoked pastrami, sausages, porchetta, and brisket al la carte or by the pound. The meats will be served as platters with two sides, bread, pickles, and onions. A variety of sandwiches and a build-your-own taco option remain available.
The Sullivan’s Island location will serve the popular Fiery Ron Burger, along with a BLT, and a pimento cheese melt. The culinary team lead by Executive Chef/Pitmaster Taylor Garrigan will create an ever-evolving “specials” menu with more composed plates.
“We are pretty fired up about the menu changes and excited to see people’s reactions to what we are doing,” says owner Aaron Siegel. “Our patrons can still expect our all-star favorites, just in a better format and with some new bells and whistles. It is something we have been working on for over a year and can’t wait to launch it.”
A big menu addition is the new cocktail menu. Lead by Operating Partner/Director of Operations Sean Daniher, the menu features drinks like The Charlestonian that has locally made Hat Trick Barrel Rested Gin, Fiery Ron’s Ol’ Fashioned Smokey which is served with a rounded ball of smoked ice, and a Skazerac featuring Bittermilk’s popular #4 line. The new cocktail program is a way to showcase the expansive spirits Home Team BBQ has to offer. This includes some hard to find and rare bourbon, scotches, Irish whiskeys, and tequilas. Along with cocktails, the beer and wine program has been expanded to offer more variety and local products.
