Mex 1 Coastal Cantina will transform their front parking lot into an epic snowboarding jump on Jan. 15

Forty-thousand pounds of snow will be falling in West Ashley on Saturday, Jan. 15. Specificially it will land in the parking lot of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina on St. Andrew’s Boulevard. Returning for its 5th year is Mex 1’s “Rail Jam.” Doors will open at 5 p.m. for the event. The 20 tons of snow being brought in will create a snowboarding jump and rail in the front of the restaurant, where regional and national amateur snowboarders can showcase their best tricks and skills.
There will be plenty of fun for everyone including live music from the Strawberry Squad, a visual effects show from Lazer Catcher, and food and drinks available for purchase at multiple outdoor bars. Booze Pops and Charleston Hemp Collective will be onsite vending as well.
“We look forward to putting on this event every year and cannot wait to see this year’s turnout,” says Dave Lorenz owner of Mex 1. “We are glad we can bring this event back and look forward to some epic snowboarding.”
This event is expected to sell out, so attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets beforehand. Tickets will be available prior to the event for $15 and can be purchased at the restaurant and $20 at the door. Kids under the age of 12 are welcome to attend for free.
