Hurricanes and Hand Grenades

Voodoo Tiki Bar & Lounge in Avondale is a uniquely Charleston bar. More than that, it’s a uniquely West Ashley bar. However, it does pay homage to both Hawaiian tiki huts, and maybe even more so, to the dark and mysterious bars of New Orleans. Its name is Voodoo after all. So it only seems appropriate that Voodoo is the place to go for a Fat Tuesday party in Charleston.
Of course there will be beads and dancing and patrons are encouraged to dress for the occasion. Along with classic Hurricanes and Hand Grenades, Voodoo will be serving up authentic Cajun cooking with a side of live New Orleans music. Live jazz begins at 6 p.m. and then Quiana Parler & The Shiny Disco Ball Band take the stage at 9 p.m.
