The West Ashley Farmers Market’s (WAFM) 2017 season, originally set to conclude on Wednesday, Oct. 4, will be extended through Sunday, Nov. 19. Beginning on Sunday, Oct. 15, the WAFM will be held on Sunday afternoons from 12-4 p.m. in Ackerman Park, located at 55 Sycamore Ave. Dates added to the WAFM season include Oct. 15, 22, 29 and November 5, 12, 19.

“We’ve been having another successful farmers market season in West Ashley and heard from both citizens and farmers that there was interest in continuing the market through the fall,” said Harrison Chapman, the West Ashley Farmers Market Manager. “As the days get shorter, the Sunday afternoon hours will allow the market to stay open longer and give residents an opportunity to come buy fresh local produce and groceries for the week.”

Artisan & Crafter vendors are invited to apply to participate in the Sunday, November 19 market on a space-available basis. Applications will be posted on the farmers market website (www.charlestonfarmersmarket.com/westashley/) October 18.

Details for the 2017 season’s additional programming and entertainment can be found at www.charlestonfarmersmarket.com/westashley/, as well as on several WAFM social media sites, including Facebook (@westashleyfarmersmarket), Instagram (@washleyfarmersmarket), and Twitter (@washleyfarms).
