While the temperatures may have dipped below freezing a couple times last weekend, we didn’t exactly get buried in snow or ice. And now temps are going to shoot back up to the 70s later this week. Gotta love winter in Charleston! But no matter what the thermostat says this weekend, Mex 1 Coastal Cantina and Holy City Events are throwing one cool party to celebrate the restaurant’s fourth year in business in West Ashley.
The party will be so cool, in fact, that there will be a giant snowboard ramp and rail in the front parking lot with a snow machine blowing snow on the ramp where a select group of riders will compete for prizes donated by Parrot Surf Shop, Carolina Surf Brand and Nectar Sunglasses.
Beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, the Mex 1 fourth anniversary party will also feature DJ Marley. The snowboarding will begin right away with the finale at 9 p.m. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter and the after party will kick off inside with live music from Pick N Roll, who will keep the party rocking until 1 a.m.
There will be drink specials all night long from Pacifico Beer and Stone Brewing. The Folly Beach Wahine Classic ladies will all be in the house supporting the event. Mex 1 will also be raffling off a surfboard from Parrot Surf Shop as well.
