West Ashley High School and the Magwood Chick-fil-A are partnering for the third year in a row to host a Community Pep Rally on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 7- 8 p.m. The event was designed to serve as a way to highlight the high school and its fall sports teams, but also as a way to highlight the West Ashley Community as a whole. This event is open to all community members and is free of charge.
During the Community Pep Rally all Wildcat fall sports teams, their players, and coaches will be recognized. Several Fine Arts groups, including the chorus and the band, will perform during the event.
Last year several WAHS clubs and organizations set up information tables, played games with the crowd, and helped out during the event. This year several of the high school’s business partners have been invited to set up tables, raffle off giveaways, and join them for a fun night in an effort to make this even more of a true West Ashley Community Pep Rally event.
Additionally 15 percent of all proceeds collected at Chick-fil-A on Thursday, Sept. 15, between 5-9 p.m. will benefit WAHS.
Two competitions will take place during the Community Pep Rally; one for WAHS students and one for adults. Current students at WAHS will have the opportunity to compete against several of their classmates for a year’s worth of Chick-fil-A, (once a week) for free. Adults will have the opportunity to compete for a free massage from Live for Wellness Chiropractic Center.
The West Ashley High SChool Community-wide Pep Rally will be held Thursday, Sept. 15, from 7-8 p.m. at Magwood Chick-fil-A, 2013 Magwood Dr.
