Under the Willow

Home Team BBQ is bringing back its popular Bar-B-Qued Bluegrass Series to their West Ashley location on Saturday, Jan. 30 with a performance by Under the Willow, an original four-piece string band rooted in but not limited to traditional bluegrass instrumentation.
Under the Willow uses socially conscious and thought-provoking lyrics while forging imaginatively original arrangements and blending the sounds of folk, bluegrass, newgrass, jam band, rock, reggae, Americana, and a twist of soul.
Led by Erin Donovan’s distinctive vocals and ravenous fiddle playing she is supported by a superb cast of multi-instrumentalist. Hayley Skreens lead and back up vocals and harmonies blend seamlessly with Donovan’s voice. Patrick Donovan’s compositions and electric stage presence is a driving force in the bands collaboration and live performance. Joe Lenza takes a unique approach to lead playing crafting his own style that grooves right with the Willow sound.
Helping to revive the love of folk and grass music in the hearts of a new generation, Under the Willow relentlessly toured across the United States in 2015 having played more than 200 shows, making it as far East as Boston and West as far as Montana and from South Florida to Upper Peninsula Michigan, just miles from the Canadian boarder.
