Comedian Ben Palmer began performing stand up comedy in Akron, Ohio. He performed at venues and clubs in Akron and Cleveland for three years before moving south to Atlanta. Since the move he has started his own multimedia show called Picture Show, and tours the country performing stand up comedy. He bring his Picture Show to Tin Roof this week when he performs along with fellow comedians Nick Shaheen, Andy C. Rider, and Jessica Mickey. Originally scheduled for Oct. 1, Ben Palmer Presents Picture Show has been rescheduled for 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Picture Show brings stand up comedy and multimedia together in one show. In the first portion, Palmer projects stock photos on a screen and gives the voices to the people in the stock photo, bringing them to life in a unique, oddly hilarious way. The second half displays Palmer’s time responding to customers on Facebook, pretending to be a customer service representative for companies he doesn’t work for. It’s been described by Bob Pettit, art director of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as “Brilliant,” and “the modern day version of Crank Yankers.”
Palmer has a laid back persona with a unique ability to captivate an audience with his delivery and calm stage presence. He has appeared on three different court TV episodes.
