Atomic Wings Drop On West Ashley

Fried chicken is a Southern delicacy. But hot wings are synonymous with New York. So when Atomic Wings opens later this month in West Ashley, there will be two worlds colliding.
With its New York roots, Atomic Wings make their debut in Charleston on Saturday, June 27 in the Ashley Crossing Shopping Center, off Glen McConnell Boulevard. Owned and operated by Annona Restaurant Concepts (ARC), Atomic Wings celebrates it’s grand opening by giving away five free wings for every customer that comes in the door between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“We are going to see just how many wings this town can eat!” says Matt Freeman, operating partner for ARC.
The West Ashley location will be South Carolina’s first Atomic Wings franchise. It will also be the first location in the country to be built with the franchise’s new interior design. Interiors will be styled with stainless steel counters, modern wood accents, and new bold graphics.
“When I first tried Atomic Wings in New York I knew this was the real thing just like you’d get in Buffalo at Anchor Bar and Duff’s Tavern,” says ARC’s managing partner Hunter Atkins. “After moving to Charleston, I missed my Atomic Wings and knew I had to find a way to bring these authentic wings and tenders to our community.”
The full regular menu, which includes combos, and mixed meals for those that can’t make up their mind between wings and tenders will also be available on the opening day.
Specializing in fresh, made-to-order wings, Atomic Wings offers a selection of flavorful sauces, ranging from Mild to Suicidal. For those wanting a little something different, sauce choices also include Thai Chili, Chipotle BBQ, Sweet & Tangy, Garlic Parmesan, and Honey BBQ. Going beyond wings, the menu also includes chicken tenders, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. The restaurant’s children’s menu offers tenders or grilled cheese, plus fries and a drink for a kid-sized price. Every Tuesday evening kids meals are free with each purchase of an adult entrée.
