You might just want to put that New Year’s Resolution on hold for another week … or 11 days. That’s because Charleston Restaurant Week, one of the most highly anticipated culinary events for locals in the greater Charleston area will begin this Wednesday, Jan. 7 and continue through Sunday, 18. For the 11-days of Restaurant Week area restaurants offer fixed price menus, allowing locals to sample dishes or restaurants they may have not previously never experienced.
For the last Restaurant Week of 2014, the Charleston Restaurant Association (CRA) changed the structure, allowing restaurants to venture outside of the previous pricing structure of $20, $30 or $40 menus. This allowed restaurants more flexibility in showcasing their best dishes while still providing a fixed price menu. For the first Restaurant Week of 2015, they will continue with the new format.
The CRA smartphone app is free and can help diners find all participating restaurants and what is on their Restaurant Week menus.
In West Ashley there are 10 restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, covering a large spectrum of cuisine styles, from Italian, Greek, and pizza to Indian, barbecue, and upscale Southern cuisine. You can find fixed priced menus for Al Di La, Angel Oak Restaurant, The Green Goat, La Fontana, Manny’s Neighborhood Grille, Middleton Place Restaurant, Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails, Nirlep Indian Restaurant, Swig & Swine BBQ, and the newly-opened Tabbuli,
