Local writers Thomas and Judy Heath, co-owners of the Life Guidance Center in West Ashley, have been chosen to continue as the Playwrights-In-Residence at Threshold Repertory Theatre in downtown Charleston for 2015. In addition to crafting new works that will debut at the theatre over the year, the West Ashley couple will contribute their time and talent to mentoring high school students, as part of the organization’s Young Playwrights Program.
“We are thrilled to have the Heaths returning with us. Last year, we produced three of their plays and audiences responded very enthusiastically to being able to see stories that were created by writers from the Charleston,” said Threshold Repertory Theatre artistic director Brendan Kelly. “Thomas and Judy bring so much to our theatre on both an artistic and educational level, which is extremely important to our mission, especially in the mentoring of young playwrights.”
