This weekend, Fabulon Center for Art Education on Wappoo Road in West Ashley will host a special 2-day workshop where participants will be able to memorialize their pets by creating 10”x10”  custom acrylic paintings on canvas with the help of local artist and pet portrait specialist: Sharon Turk.
Held from 2-4 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15 the workshop is $100 per person and includes instruction and materials. Students may also stay working independently after class until Fabulon closes on Saturday. The workshop is limited to the first 12 students, ranging from teens and adults of all skill levels.
Participants are asked to bring one photo of their pet featuring its head and shoulders — close ups work best. Also  they are asked to make one photocopy enlarged so that it is 10”x10”. Helpful hints: A great photo = a great painting. Natural lighting is best, and a photo taken when the photographer is at pet level is optimal.
Fabulon Center for Art Education is located at 1017 Wappoo Road.
