Stand up comedy returns to Bushido Japanese Restaurant, one of West Ashley’s favorite sushi houses starting this Friday, Dec. 20.
The weekly “On A Roll” comedy showcase kicks off with a night featuring two of the best local comedians, Jason Groce and Tim Hoeckel, who just co-won the Charleston Comedy Festival’s stand up competition.
It’s free and open to the public, and there will be late-night specials to boot at the Magwood Drive restaurant. The air will be cool, but the comedy will be hot — but not as hot as its Spicy Tuna Roll challenge, because that thing is ridiculous (West Of publisher Lorne Chambers got to #9 before tapping out with only one roll to go).
Hosted by veteran comedian and West Of news editor Bill Davis, the show will also feature Jeremy McLellan who, like Groce and Hoeckel, will be doing longer sets than are usually performed at other local comedy spots.
“On A Roll” comedy showcase is held every Friday at 10 p.m. at Bushido Japanese Restaurant is located at 1957 Magwood Road. For more information call 573-2440 or email tact@bushidojapneserestaurant.com.
