The following were taken from actual incident reports filed last week by the City of Charleston Police Department. These are not convictions and the names of businesses, complainants, and suspects have been left off to protect the innocent. All suspects are  innocent until proven guilty, of course.
March 17 |  other offenses
A Westchase Drive woman told police that her ex-boyfriend has harrassed her since their breakup. She claims he has broken into her Facebook account, posting messages like: “I want all my stuff back. Even the condoms.”
March 17 | Drug, narcotics violation
An officer came upon a stalled car in the middle of the road near the intersection of Apollo Road and Savannah Highway. When the officer approached, the passenger in the car got out and announced they had run out of gas and that she was going to walk to her house to get a gas can. While speaking to the driver, the officer noticed a hypodermic needle lying out in the open inside the car. When asked about the needle, the driver said she had lent the car to her roommate, who has diabetes. When interviewed outside the car, the woman became distracted and kept mentioning her roommate’s diagnosis. A search of the car found a spoon with white residue that tested positive for heroin.
March 18 | Criminal domestic violence, simple assault
An Ashley River Road woman told police that she went to a local pub with a man she shares a child with. After drinking, they left the bar, got into his car, drove off, and got into an argument. During the drive, the woman claims the man began to punch her in the back of the head and shove her head into the windshield at stoplights. She further claims that when he put her out of the car at a hospital, the car was still moving. Police noted the woman had a swollen right eye.
March 18 | Suicide
Police responded to a medical alert signal at a Downing Street residence. Upon arrival, an officer entered the residence with a spare key, and found the resident laying on the living room floor with a firearm across his chest with his finger still on the trigger, next to his medical alert and wheelchair.

A Fort Royal Avenue resident told police his unlocked SUV had been entered by someone without permission and $5 in change was stolen from the center console, as well as a “Camo Bowtac Diamond Outlaw Compound Bow” from the rear of the vehicle.
March 19 | Motor vehicle theft
A resident of a Dogwood Road apartment complex notified police that his $8,900 Harley Davidson 883cc. Sportster motorcycle was missing from where he had parked it the night before. The man said he and the bike’s co-owner checked and there was no outstanding bills on the bike. Police checked and didn’t find it at any local tow yards.
March 19 | Death investigation
A manager at a Savannah Highway motel informed police that one guest had not left by checkout time and he couldn’t get the man to answer the door. The responding officer went to the room and looked through the window and saw the man lying on the ground. After gaining entrance to the room, the officer surmised the man was dead. During the investigation, the man’s mother arrived, saying that he had a history with heroin and that he “sounded high” when she spoke to him the day before. Apparently, the man had just been put out of a recovery residence.
March 19 | Intimidation
A Skinner Avenue man reported that his neighbor climbed a ladder to harass him about a spotlight in his yard the neighbor claimed was pointed at one of his windows. During the discussion, the neighbor allegedly kicked two boards out of the man’s fence and verbally threatened him, saying: “All you have to do is stick your hand over the fence and I will kill you.” The man is worried that his neighbor has a gun and may “snap and act on his threat.”
