Allison Josephs, the creator and author of the globally read, ground-breaking website “Jew in the City” will be on hand Monday, Sept. 12 to talk about and break down stereotypes about religious Jews and offer a humorous, meaningful look into Orthodox Judaism. The event will take place at the Ashley Event Venue, located at  1940 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.. Cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6-7 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 and include a meet and greet with Josephs and $25 at the door. Student, senior and group rates are available.
The event is the first of author events that will take place during the 2016-2017 season at different venues throughout the area. The entire season will offer titles and subjects of interest and relevance to engage the community at large as well as the Jewish community and partner with secular community organizations, businesses and nonprofits to enhance the events. The JCC WOW’s Bookfest partnerships so far with AFFA (Alliance for Full Acceptance) and the Charleston Animal Society have proven to be extremely successful.
