Before it was made famous on the big screen in the 1989 Academy Award-winning film starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy, Driving Miss Daisy was first timeless American play written by Alfred Uhry. Midtown Productions is bringing this beloved story back to the stage this week when they kick-off a two-and-a-half-week run, which include 11 performances.
Driving Miss Daisy tells the affecting story of the decades-long relationship between an elderly Southern Jewish woman, Daisy Werthan, and her compassionate African-American chauffeur, Hoke Colburn. Their iconic tale of pride, changing times, and the transformative power of friendship has warmed the hearts of millions worldwide.  It was the winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play.
Midtown Productions’ Driving Miss Daisy stars veteran actors Samille Basler as “Daisy,” Keith Alston as “Hoke,” and Robin Burke as “Boolie.” It is directed by Jo Ellen Aspinwall,
