Celebrating three years of vintage fashion, area artisans, and some of the best live music Charleston has to offer, the Runaround Sue Vintage Fashion Show returns this Sunday with more awesome retro schwag than you can throw a vintage knob-handled walking stick at.
Fashions on the candle-lit catwalk this year will focus on the 1960s, with everything from mod to housecoats from the decade of love, as well as retro country, lingerie and more.
M.C.ing the event this year will be Weather Channel scandal himself, comedian Jeremy McClellan, and if you need something to wash his dry humor down with, the Tin Roof will be offering vintage drink specials all night. The Autobahn Food Truck will also be in the parking lot all night with their appetizing selection of Vietnamese banh-mi sandwiches.
The fashion show is only the first half of a truly retro night, however, as the V-Tones take the stage, followed by the Tin Pan Alley-jazz stylings of the Flat Foot Floozies. And accompanying their vintage tunes will be dancers from the Roaring ’20s Hot Jazz Dance Club, who welcome anyone from professional dancers to those with two left feet to join them in a lindy hop or two.
All of the outfits modeled will be for sale following the show, as well as a wide selection of clothing items from the Runaround Sue Etsy store.
The show starts promptly at 9 p.m., but get there early! The first 50 people through the door starting at 8 p.m. get a goody bag full of gift cards and tchotchke from several of Charleston’s top crafters and artisans, including Simply Becoming Designs, Ambrosia Star Designs, Luck Puppy Truck, fkvintage, Consigning Women, and Spacecraft Studios.
Raffle prizes from area businesses such as Al di La, Masseuse Eden Fonvielle, The Flying Travelier, D’Allesandro’s Pizza, Elliotborough Mini Bar, Roses and Ruins Tattoo Artist Betsy Gafgen, the Green Goat, Hello My Name is BBQ, and Runaround Sue Vintage will also be given away throughout the night, and one lucky live auction bidder will have the chance to walk away with a one week stay at a Surfside Beach beach house.

As always, all proceeds from this event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Tickets for the show are $10, with additional donations welcome. For more information, visit www.runaroundsuevintage.blogspot.com.
