Nationally recognized performer, storyteller Tim Lowry presents a family concert titled “My Favorite Time of Year, A Storyteller’s Almanac” from 7-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, in the Fellowship Hall at Church Creek Presbyterian. The event is a fundraiser for Charleston Christian School in West Ashley. Tickets are $5.
Lowry has been telling stories of the People, by the People, and for the People for 25 years. Telling a variety of Folk Tales and Stories from American History, Lowry has presented thousands of educational programs for schools across the country. At festivals he entertains audiences with a mixture of Folk Tales and Personal Narrative.
Lowry also presents storytelling/communication workshops at corporate retreats. When he’s not on the road, he lives in Summerville, SC, where he often performs stories of the historic South Carolina Lowcountry: Colonial Tavern Tales, Gullah Folk Tales, and Civil War Ghost Stories. Lowry is currently the resident storyteller at the historic Timrod Library in Summerville.
Lowry specializes in stories of the American people. He recently performed as a featured “New Voice” at the prestigious National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tenn. His one-man show “Every Inch A Gentleman: Stories from Charleston’s Golden Age” has been seen by audiences from Florida to Connecticut.
